Do I need a lawyer for the Spain digital nomad visa?
It is not legally required, and straightforward files are approved without one. What a lawyer changes is the failure modes: the insurance policy that does not meet the no-copay test, the employer letter that never authorises remote work from Spain, the social security question for W-2 employees, and the requerimiento with a short deadline. If any of those apply to you, the cost of getting them wrong is higher than the fee.
How much does it cost?
The fee is fixed and shown before you start, so there are no hourly surprises. Spanish administrative fees — €90 at the consulate or €73.26 at the UGE, plus €16 for the residence card — are paid separately to the authorities.
Do you work with applicants who are still in the United States?
Yes. The service is entirely online, and the consulate route is designed for exactly that situation: you apply from the consulate with jurisdiction over your US address and arrive in Spain with the decision already made.
Are you actually lawyers?
